The Packages module allows you to create, manage, and deploy software packages on computers in the IT estate. It facilitates software installation, application updates, and the deployment of specific configurations across multiple machines simultaneously.

Key features:

  • Create a package: Define the package’s contents, the files to install, and the actions to perform.
  • Modify a package: Update an existing package by adding software or modifying the deployment scripts.
  • Deploy a package: Install a package on one or more computers on the network.
  • Manage deployment errors: Review logs to identify installation failures.
  • Track package versions: Check the versions installed on machines and manage Updates.

What can you find in the Packages interface?

The interface displays several key sections:

  • List of packages: Contains the name, version, description, compatible operating system, size, and quota used.

  • Add a package: Option to create a new package.

  • List of Pending Packages: Tracks packages currently being processed or awaiting deployment.

  • List of Rules: Displays the rules applied to deployments.

  • Add a rule: Option to create new deployment rules.

  • Logs and Errors: Details on deployment errors and corrective actions.


Where can I find the Packages module?

The Packages module is accessible from the main menu, under the Packages tab.

  • Click Packages to view the list of available packages.

  • Use Add Package to create a new package.

  • Check the Pending Packages list to track packages currently undergoing deployment.

  • Go to the Rules List to view or add package management rules
